This tool was used to quieten horses when they didn't want to cooperate with a procedure

Both spurs have metal fatigue cracks on the inside of the heel bands (please see images )

At some time in the past the keepers for the top strap and the leather hinge have been secured with studs not stitching ( see images )The girth strap is attached so that the flask will sit on the near-side of the saddle

Antique Callow & Son Leather Hunting Whip or Crop - w1739 may24 There is a previous owner'sThis whip has an antler or staghorn handle. There is a silver button on the heel of the staghorn which is stamped " Callow & Son, Park Lane, London". This stamp dates the whip to between 1852 and 1925. It has a silver plated collar, there are a few dents and dings in the collar & some rubbing of the plating. There are no stamps or engravings. The shaft or stock is covered in brown leather with a finely stitched seam. There is a scuff to the leather
